Meet Our Team

The first thing to know about our coaches is that they are just like you, they have goals and they started somewhere.  Everyone who walks through our doors is aspiring to better tomorrow than they are today and our coaches are no different.  They understand that it’s hard to get started, that at first it’s hard to stay committed, and that this is like no training program you’ve ever experienced before.  They understand this because they were there too in the beginning.  They also know that if they motivate and inspire you, you will reach levels in your fitness you never knew were possible.  And guess how they know that…because they’ve done it and they continue to do it every day!

“CrossFit found me in 2009 when I left the corporate fitness world to start my own training business.  After I finished my first WOD I collapsed to the ground and knew immediately that I was hooked.  Not since the Marine Corps had I experienced such a mental and physical challenge.

After only of a short time of doing CrossFit I realized that this so much more than just a fitness program.  The principals we apply in CrossFit extend beyond the barbell.  The challenge to challenge yourself, to see what you are capable of, to commit to something even though it’s hard because of what you will get out of it.

A little about myself, if I am not at the gym I can probably be found hanging out with my awesome wife and 3 awesome kids.  I love CrossFit and I love coaching but I love being a dad best of all.

I grew up as an athlete in Columbia, Missouri until I moved to Denver at the age of 23. In high school I played baseball and wrestled. After high school I attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where I played a couple years of baseball and a heavy amount of intramural sports with my fraternity. I moved to Denver in 2007 for work and have been very happy to wind up in such a great city.

I got into CrossFit in early 2012 and have loved it since the day I started. My favorite aspects of CrossFit are Oly lifting, gymnastics, teamwork, the results it delivers, and seeing other people work their butts off for those results. I take great pride as a coach in seeing our clients blossom and grow as well as overcome their fears, injuries, and break down their barriers. I like to compete in local CrossFit Competitions and am starting a journey into Olympic lifting competitions. Outside of CrossFit I love music, going to concerts, skiing, hiking, camping, being outdoors, biking, and playing softball.

I grew up in Lake Tahoe, NV. I started skiing when I was 2 years old and have been immersed in sports ever since. I played soccer in high school and college. I snowboarded professionally for 12 years after I graduated from the University of Utah. I competed in the X-Games, Dew Tour, and US Open. As my snowboarding career was ending, I started a family and moved to Denver. I continue to have a passion for competition, staying fit, and learning new skills. CrossFit has helped me fulfill that passion and has helped my body stay healthy. CrossFit is a fun environment that keeps my snowboarding injuries under control and helps me maintain the strength and energy I need to be the best mom for my children.

When I am not in the gym I like to play golf, snowboard, play soccer, and camp, but most of all I love hanging out with my family.

Since my time as a collegiate athlete, I’ve had many different phases on my fitness life and for various reason, I grew tired of every single phase… except CrossFit.

Since joining this gym in the summer of 2013, I’ve grown to love this community and relish the opportunity to work out and get better at both my strengths and weaknesses.

Along the way, my passion for Olympic-style weightlifting grew to the point that I started focusing solely on programs specially designed for that purpose. In the summer of 2015 I got certified as a coach through USA Weightlifting and began coaching at the gym the following winter.

I absolutely love working with our members to help them get better at all aspects of CrossFit that involve barbells but especially the Olympic lifts. I’m always happy to answer questions or watch a lift or a set, even outside of the classes I actually coach. If you ever want to lose an hour of your life, ask me about Olympic weightlifting!

Outside of the gym, I work hard, I watch movies, I try to relax and play as much as possible, and I think about going to the gym…”

I was introduced to CrossFit in 2010 by my Youth Pastor who began a small garage gym in the back of the church. I was in Junior High, and at the time, CrossFit was something to do and provided a community that I needed. From there I fell in love with the challenges and the results of hard work. It is so rewarding to walk into the gym and complete a WOD that challenges my weaknesses. CrossFit has given me the confidence to try new sports and meet wonderful people. I am now enjoying the challenge of working with kids and sharing with them how, not only to be better athletes, but also better human beings.

Outside of CrossFit, I enjoy spending time with family as well as hiking and exploring Colorado.
